Dr. Jennifer MacDonald

Dr. Jennifer L. MacDonald (she/her) is a University Teaching Fellow in the Department of Chemistry at Dalhousie University. Together with their lab team, Jenn delivers the First-Year Chemistry Laboratory Program to over 1600+ students each academic year. Her team focuses on improving accessibility in the chemistry laboratory through clarity in presentation (fonts, colour schemes, and contrast) and exploring/developing support for colour vision deficiency to reduce barriers in interpreting colour based experimental results (both in-person and online). In collaboration with Dalhousie's School of Occupational Therapy and Environmental Health and Safety Office, the team hopes to objectively document laboratory job demands for students/staff to guide accessibility improvements to programming and infrastructure in chemistry laboratories.
